Menu Bar
To view information on each item of the Menu Bar, click on the item in the graphic below, or scroll down the page.

File
  • Use "Open..." to open a file from a location on your drives. It is easiest to use the Score List, and double-click on the title you wish to open.
  • Use "Print..." or "Print Setup..." to print your score or to select which printer you wish to use.
  • The numbered list indicates the most recent files opened in the Viewer. Click on the file name to re-open the score.

 

View
Top
Go To Page  
  • Use the keys on your keyboard labeled "Home," "End," "PgUp" (or up arrow), "PgDn" (or down arrow) to navigate through the score.
  • Go quickly to any specific page of your score by simultaneously pressing the "Ctrl" and "G" keys.
Scale  
  • Use these options for an optimal fit of your score in your viewing area.
  • You can also use the score view icon.
  • Choose custom for more sizing options.
Toolbars  
  • You can choose to view or hide the toolbars in any combination.
  • Click on an item to turn a toolbar on or off.
Score List Panel
  • Click on "Score List Panel" (or press F2) to view or hide the Score List on the left side of the Viewer.
Status Bar
  • Click on "Status Bar" to view or hide the Viewer status bar at the bottom of the Viewer window.

 

Tools  
Top
Playback  
  • Select "Play" to start playback of the score.
  • You can also start playback by
    • Pressing the + [plus] key on the keyboard.
    • Pressing the Playback arrow on the Playback Toolbar
  • Select "Pause" to halt the playback. When "Play" is engaged, the score will begin playing from the place where Pause was activated.
  • You can also Pause by
    • Pressing the = [equals] sign on the keyboard.
    • Pressing the Pause button on the Playback Toolbar.
  • Select "Stop" to stop the playback. When "Play" is engaged the score will start at the beginning.
  • You can also Stop by
    • Pressing the - [minus] key on the keyboard.
    • Pressing the Stop button on the Playback Toolbar.
Instrument  
  • You can open the Instrument panel anytime by pressing Ctrl+I.
  • Instrument: Click on the down-arrow to open the list of instruments.
  • Solo: Check/Uncheck the Solo box to selectively turn on Instruments.
  • Mute: Check/Uncheck the Mute box to selectively turn off Instruments.
  • Adjust Pan, Expression, Reverb, and Chorus to get just the playback effect you want.
  • Press "Default" to return instrument settings to the score default (the settings of the score when downloaded or purchased).
Get Lyrics  
  • The "Get Lyrics" item displays a window from which score lyrics may be read, saved to a file, or printed.

Transpose

Note on Printing a Transposed Score.

In order to print a score that you have transposed into a key that is different from the default or original key in which the score is set at purchase, follow the directions below, and then PRINT the score. Be sure you have chosen the correct key. If you bought only one print right, you will only be able to print a single copy.

Once the file is closed, it will revert to the original key. (You cannot currently save the file in a different key). However, you will always be able to re-apply transpositions on the file for playback purposes.

  • The Transposition tool allows for transposition using various methods.
  • Use the drop down list to choose your method (see graphic below).
  • Set "Up" or "Down"
  • Set staves to be transposed.
  • Click Reload to revert to original score key (the key of the score as originally downloaded or purchased).
Preferences - Play  
  1. Play Tab
  • Set your midi device for playback
  • Choose the Highlight color (the color of the notes during playback).
Preferences - Page Layout  
  1. Page Layout
  • Choose from the preset Zooms, or enter a custom percentage.
  • Choose whether you want 1 or 2 pages showing simultaneously in the Viewer.
  • You can also set the Page Layout using the drop-down menu in the Playback Toolbar
Preferences - Internet Options  
  1. Internet Options
  • Set proxy server addresses by clicking in the checkbox and entering the addresses.

 

Account
Top
  • Select "Log Out/Log In" to disconnect from or connect to the server for downloading music or updating your score list.
  • Select "Get More Music From Web..." to connect the internet sheet music store.

 

Window
Top
  • Arrange multiple open scores in the viewing area in various arrays: Cascade, Tile Horizontal, Tile Vertical. See the images below for examples of each array.
  • Use the bottom section of the "Window" menu to bring an open score to the front for viewing.

Help
Top
  • Select "Latest Update" for new versions of the Solero Viewer.
  • Select "Go to Home" to connect your browser to the internet sheet music store.
  • Select "Online Help" to learn about the features and functions of the Solero Viewer.
  • Select "License Agreement" to view or print the license governing the use of Solero software.
  • Select "About Solero" to see the version number of your installed Solero Viewer.
